About Us

I Watched Women Fall Through the Cracks. Then I Decided to Do Something About It.

I’ve been in property development for over a decade. I’ve raised capital, developed affordable housing and helped investors achieve double digit returns. I know how the system works; and I’ve seen exactly how it fails women.

When the pandemic hit, I watched it happen in real time. Living in the Byron Bay area, I saw older women who had built their lives there displaced as rents skyrocketed. There were no advocates or solutions. They were just falling through the cracks.

I started Women 4 Homes because of something I kept seeing in my work raising capital for affordable housing projects. The minimum investment was $50,000. And I knew that many women wanted to be part of the solution but they simply didn’t have that kind of money. I wanted to change that Women 4 Homes is for women who want to work together to create affordable, sustainable, and inclusive homes.

This is about making the housing crisis an everybody solution – not waiting for the government, not waiting for developers, but putting the power back into women’s hands. Bricks and mortar you can see, touch and understand. A real Australian asset that is owned by us.

I’m approaching 50. I’m paying more attention to the stages of life that come next and to the women who have already walked that path. The wisdom our elders carry, the contribution they make to our communities, and the way our society repays them by saying go and fend for yourselves. I’m not okay with that.

The prevailing model in the world right now seems to be burn and destroy. I believe it’s time for a different energy to rise, that of the nurturer, the wise woman, the builder of communities. Women 4 Homes is part of that rising. And while we speak the language of women, this movement is open to anyone who shares this vision. Men are welcome here too.

The Movement

Women 4 Homes is more than an investment opportunity. It is a movement of women who care about where their money goes, who want their money to work harder for them and who believe that home is a fundamental human right.

We’ve got our first co-living home for older women in progress. We have the investors, the funds management company, the land, and the builders together, and we are starting the build in early 2027.

And this is just the beginning. Our vision is a future where affordable, sustainable and inclusive homes exist for everyone who needs one.

Our Team

We’re a small but mighty team, united by a shared belief that women deserve better – financially and in terms of housing security.

I’m Kimberly, part of the team here at W4H, where I support the day-to-day administration and help keep everything running smoothly.

I’m single and happily so—I’ve chosen a path that doesn’t include marriage or kids. I share my life with a dog and a cat, and I also foster stray cats. I’m really passionate about animal welfare, donate when I can, and always carry a pack of kibble with me to feed any strays I come across.

My go-to drink is vodka, straight up. One of my biggest achievements has been creating a life that truly reflects who I am. Coming from a strict and traditional Chinese background, choosing my own path and building my independence has been incredibly meaningful.

And something I’m definitely afraid of? Cockroaches—no question 😅

My guiding principle in life is: Slow down to speed up!

Outside of work, I’m happily married. While we don’t have kids—not by choice—we’re embracing the journey and making the most of our time together as a couple.

I have a soft spot for anything chocolate, especially an iced chocolate or a chocolate frappuccino. One of my biggest achievements has been learning to take better care of myself—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’m also incredibly proud to have bought my own home, something that means a lot to me after growing up renting and frequently moving houses.

As an introvert, I can find unfamiliar places a bit overwhelming, especially when I’m alone or don’t know anyone—but it’s something I continue to work through and grow from.

My guiding principle in life is: Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)
