WE ARE DONE.

Women sleeping in cars. Couch-surfing. Staying in unsafe situations because leaving means homelessness. Reaching retirement with less than their male counterparts, because the system was never designed to work for them. We are done waiting for that system to fix itself.

WE ARE DONE

31%

Increase in homelessness among Australian women over 55 between 2011 and 2016

25%

Less superannuation women retire with compared to men, because of a system that was never built for them

2030

Our deadline to end homelessness

Our mothers. Our grandmothers. The women who sacrificed and built and held everything together, they are the wisdom keepers of our society. And we are done watching them be discarded as though their contribution meant nothing.

HERE’S WHAT WE ARE DOING INSTEAD

Women 4 Homes is creating its first co-living home for older women. It’s the first step in something bigger: women putting our own capital to work to solve housing insecurity, on our own terms, at scale.

And the women are already here. Over 20 of them have come together to invest, backing this with their own money, because they’re done waiting for someone else to fix it.

Here’s what we’re building. A co-living home for 5 older women. Five bedrooms, each with its own en suite and kitchenette, plus shared communal space. A home that eases the loneliness that comes too often with age.

Right now we have the land, the designs, the builder, and the fund. We’re documenting every step, so the whole country can see what we already know. That older women most at risk of homelessness deserve beautiful, affordable homes. And that the wealth creation power of property can be used in a way that creates a win-win.

This is what we’re doing and we would love you to be a part of this. Whether you would like to support through sharing with your networks, bringing your skills, your time or your money, there is a place for you here.
